Hi there! RIUH (pronounced: ri-yoh; means: loud festive noises in Malay) is a creative platform (not just a market!). We curate a variety of pop-up stores & food, creative workshops, showcases and live performances – within a vicinity, kick-starting in August 2017 at APW, Jalan Riong, Bangsar.
A monthly affair, one weekend every month – with different monthly creative offerings.
To the creative community – we host you by providing a pop-up space to sell, share and flaunt what you do best.
To the urbanites and visitors to KL - we invite you for a weekend of retail therapy, to get your hands dirty and creative juices running in our creative workshops and indulge in the arts.
RIUH is a monthly affair - happening on one weekend, each month. It kickstarts on 19th & 20th August 2017.
It will be held at APW, Jalan Riong, Bangsar. It will shift venues for 2018. (we don’t have our own building just yet).
Is it a market or bazaar?
Yes and no. Yes, it is modelled based on the idea of an art / artisan market or bazaar (think: Covent Garden in London). No, because it offers much more than just pop-up stores and food. It has creative workshops (think: art classes for kids, woodworks classes for adults, talks on photography), showcases (think: art exhibition, film screenings, fashion presentations) and live performances (think: live music performances, street performing arts, buskers and relaxing DJ sets).
Is APW a mall?
No, it is not a mall. It used to be a commercial printing factory and subsequently converted into a creative industrial spacewith an event area, pocket parks and F&B outlets.
There are parking spaces around the area and surrounding buildings. APW has a valet service for those who are worried of parking. Also, we will be announcing our GRAB promo code and shuttle service soon. Follow us on Instagram for updates.
Bangsar LRT station (15 minutes walk).
Is there an admission fee?
No but we charge affordable participation fees for the workshop.
